Inconel 601 tube is a nickel-chromium-iron-aluminum solid-solution strengthened nickel-based high-temperature alloy tube, with the standard grade UNS N06601/W.Nr. 2.4851.

Typical Application Areas:  

1. Industrial furnaces and heat treatment: Used as radiant tubes, muffles, heating tubes, guide tubes, carburizing/nitriding furnace tubes, support/transfer tubes in continuous heating furnaces, and radiant tubes in annealing furnaces—making it the primary material for such high-temperature furnace systems.  

2. Environmental protection and energy: Applied in combustion chamber piping for solid waste incinerators, high-temperature flue gas ducts, exhaust gas treatment pipelines, waste heat recovery heat exchanger tubes, boiler superheater tubes, and exhaust system components.  

3. Petrochemical industry: Utilized in ethylene cracking furnace tubes, ammonia reformer isolation tank piping, nitric acid production catalytic support grids, high-temperature reactor pipes, heater process tubes, catalytic cracking regenerator pipes, and high-temperature heat exchanger tube bundles.  

4. Automotive industry: Particularly in high-performance vehicles or racing applications, Inconel 601 is used to manufacture turbocharger rotors, seals, and exhaust system components due to its lightweight nature and ability to operate stably at extremely high temperatures.


Core Performance Characteristics:  

1. Excellent high-temperature oxidation resistance: Can be used continuously and stably at temperatures between 1100°C and 1150°C, with short-term tolerance up to 1250°C. Thanks to chromium and aluminum content, a dense composite oxide layer forms rapidly at high temperatures, providing superior resistance to spalling and flaking compared to conventional stainless steels like 310S and 309S, as well as Inconel 600. The oxide layer remains stable even under repeated thermal cycling, offering excellent thermal shock resistance.  

2. Outstanding corrosion resistance and environmental stability: Exhibits strong resistance to carbonization and nitridation, minimizing embrittlement and failure in carburizing and nitriding atmospheres. It also demonstrates excellent tolerance to sulfur-containing flue gases, high-temperature dust, acids, alkalis, salt spray, and chloride ions, maintaining stable oxidation resistance even in high-temperature sulfurous environments. Its high nickel content provides exceptional resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking. However, it shows relatively higher corrosion rates in strongly reducing acids (such as hydrochloric and sulfuric acid), performing less favorably than Hastelloy alloys.  3. Superior high-temperature mechanical properties: Through controlled carbon content and grain size, it achieves high creep-rupture strength, retaining good strength and ductility even above 500°C. It resists softening, deformation, and brittle fracture effectively, with excellent resistance to relaxation and thermal fatigue, making it ideal for long-term continuous high-temperature operation.  

4. Good workability and weldability: Suitable for both cold and hot working, with excellent bending and expanding forming capabilities. Supports various welding processes including TIG, MIG, and plasma welding, with stable weld quality. No post-weld heat treatment is required, and weld strength matches that of the base material.
